Strangers at the Event Horizon

Strangers at the Event Horizon is a somatic collaboration of hidden palimpsests. Wedlock and Park create a landscape for movement in which the text and the reader form gestures. If a reader will always move, then so will this text. The textual body is brackish, subjected to gravity, and is revealed under the beam of the light house. As the text cracks and seeps, the macro and microcosms of the universe unhinge. Who will you meet at the event horizon and how will you arrive?

KRISTEN PARK is an ecosomatic writer of the littoral zone. As a Naropa University MFA graduate, Kristen found the language to investigate samskara. She writes in edges. Co-founder of Precipice: An Inukshuk Collective, she generates somatic writing exercises and coordinates poetry-movement events. When not choreographing in the bathtub or writing in the sand, she teaches composition at Johnson & Wales University and Bryant University in Historic Rhode Island.

MATT WEDLOCK holds an MFA in Poetics from The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Other poems have appeared in The Body Electric Anthology & Bombay Gin. He also runs Salient Tooth Letterpress in Dighton, MA.
